Faulty transformer explosion  near University of Nairobi Kikuyu campus has caused injuries of more than 100 students  who jumped out of their hostels in fear that it was al-shabaab terror group that had attacked their university.
The stampeded happened at 4 Am when the transformer exploded. Students mistook the explosion  to be a terror attack  that was going on  in their University.The explosion had happened and a succession of the same explosion happened after 20 seconds. This made the students belief that they were under attack. Some jumped even from six floor of their hostels.
Injured students are now being treated at KNH and friends and relatives have visited them.Some are reported to be having broken limbs and cuts.This stampede  comes a week after terrorists attacked Garissa University and killed over 147 students.
