The new law
equally recognizes the lady of the house as the owner of every property, might
be land,car,house that is in the family provided that both of you are legally married.
Even if the man married the lady after he had acquired all the wealth, the lady
comes and also owns what the man owns. This is really crazy how this law treats
lady. They have been favored a lot and before getting into a life time
relationship with a lady take time to know her better because once you get into
marriage unless issues of infidelity are the ones that court can accept for
divorce and all the wealth might be divided. Take time men.
It’s true
that women are going behind the backs of men especially when they are not at
home and they attempt to sell everything in the house. Its because of this
reason why property owners in Nairobi has gone around and stated the
requirements that are needed for one to sell a property that belong to a family
bolded by the holy matrimony. The consent of the lady of the house and the man
should be sought before selling such kind of property.

Even though
that has is a requirement, people have gone ahead to hiring fake husbands and
wives to sell what they want to sell without the consent of the other partner.
Even the banks are now cautions of the people they give loans to because they
may not be real spouses as people will pose to be lovers and seek loans and run
away only the other spouse is left to pay for what gone away.
The Land Registration Act (LRA) states that
there should be consent of the two spouses incase one wants to sell the land or
the house. Even if the property was not acquired during the time of marriage, the lady of the house
has got influence on the house and her consent is very important and selling anything without her consent
cannot be allowed.
I have written this article to put all the men out there in the light
so that they can know that what they own now will be owned by somebody else
once they get married.Take time when choosing who should be your wife because
she may end up frustrating you a lot when it comes to owning the property.
