HAVE IN-LAWS INVADED YOUR MARRIAGE?

Jacqueline who works as a banker has now been in a marriage for the last five years. She is a mother of two and she got married at 20 years and now she is 25 years. Although her marriage has been okay for the past years she now feels that her husband and the other side of family has resented her.

She continue to say that her hubby is  the first child in a family of five.His siblings are in school  and its her hubby who has to support them,pay their school fees that amounts to Ksh:60,000  per year. Although they don’t lack anything, she feels that her husband should start investing for the future,her two children will need money when they will  start going to school.They need to buy a pieace of land where they can settle in future and have their house and move away from the city.

She adds that her mother in law lives in the upcountry and keeps cows ,goats and chicken but she always keep on bothering my hubby asking him to send money for cattle feeds and chicken feeds. Incase of anything that has happened ,its my husband to pay for.

Jacquline says”Am not against my hubby supporting his family but it’s the time he should invest in the future of  our family. He has been working for the past ten years and we are still broke. We should at least even be owning a car and a house here in the city but all we have is nothing. We have to use the public transport while we can buy a car”.

She adds that she once told her hubby about it and he should review how he spends the money so that their family can grow but her hubby told him that before they met she knew  all about her financial commitments he had and he will now fulfill them. Jacky  now is afraid that the hopes he had with her family will never come true.

Jacky is not alone in such predicament.Monica is also another lady who has been married for the last three years now.She does marketing  and she says that her mother-in-law always visits them without even having to make announcements of her coming.The funny thing is that her hubby doesnot see the funny side of that and he says that her home should be open to especially her family members  who can visit them any time they feel like.
